With a lighter, more compact chassis, the FN® MK 48 MOD 1 delivers the powerful 7.62x51mm round’s expanded range and higher penetration. It was made lightweight and small enough to follow troops moving quickly as they maneuvered closer to the enemy, as used by U.S. special operations. When a lighter, more agile machine gun with a higher caliber is required, the mark 48 machine gun can also supplement traditional ground forces.

Improved receiver pins, a redesigned gas block, a vented hand guard with an enhanced heat shield, and three MIL-STD-1913 rails are all features of the mk48 machine gun. The cold hammer-forged MIL-SPEC barrel of the MK 48 MOD 1, mk48 gun is hard-chromed for increased accuracy and longevity, and it also functions as the carry handle mounting point. The receiver is made of formed steel and has a MIL-STD-1913 optical rail installed on top. Recoil is significantly decreased with a hydraulic buffer, allowing the user to shoot more shots on target. The curved trigger and crossbolt safety contribute to improved operator control. Has one extra barrel.
